Well my name is Janine and my husband’s name is Taylor. I’m the main writer of the articles, but Taylor definitely has his input and ideas to add, and I just type them up. We’re both 22, and were married on August 12th 2007. Since we very first started dating, we have routinely been eating at restaurants, and our general idea of a night out is your typical dinner and a movie. But, after a while we started thinking that we eat out so often and always comment on the food and the service that maybe we should start telling other people about the places we’ve been. We want to cultivate ourselves into real foodies with great restaurant picks and superb ideas for date nights, but right now we’re starting off with beer, pizza, and a crappy horror flick (all of which we love!) and we’ll go from there.
Now, to get into the reasons why we go out so much. First reason on the list… I hate to cook. HATE! I have cooked a few delectable dishes but overall the mess, stress and time it takes to cook something just pisses me off. Reason two… Taylor works mostly out of town, so when he’s gone I don’t buy enough groceries to cook real meals every night (not that I would cook them even if the ingredients were in my own kitchen) so when he does come home we either have to go shopping for food ASAP or head out. Usually what ends up happening is that we head out for dinners and buy stuff to eat at home for breakfast. But sometimes that doesn’t happen either. Unlike myself, Taylor is a pretty darn good cook, willing to try new things, mix different combinations and add his own spin on any recipe. Oh, and he touches raw meat, which I do not. Hence why most things I cook are based around noodles of some sort.
At home we enjoy cheap champagne, barbecuing, salmon, shrimp, pasta and salad. When we go out, it could be anything that catches our eye!
So here’s to the start of our notes on life, love, food, and the joy of date nights!
